Wild Taco is a Baja-inspired restaurant focused on bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and genuine hospitality. We serve up craveable tacos and house-made favorites in a fun, laid-back, coastal environment. Our goal is simple: great food, good vibes, and a welcoming experience for every guest.
The Shift Lead / Server plays a dual role—serving guests while also supporting management in overseeing daily shifts. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a leadership role, stays calm under pressure, and is passionate about hospitality.
- Act as the point of contact during assigned shifts
- Support opening and closing procedures
- Ensure smooth service flow and team coordination
- Assist in handling guest concerns and resolving issues promptly
- Lead by example with a positive, team-first attitude
- Provide friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service to guests
- Take orders accurately and deliver food and beverages efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized section
- Anticipate guest needs and create a welcoming experience
- Uphold all food safety and sanitation standards
- Help train and mentor new team members
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Supervise a shift
- 2+ years of serving experience (lead or supervisory experience preferred)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexible schedule, including nights & weekends

Bear Flag was founded in 2007 by Thomas Carson, inspired by a lifelong passion for fishing and fresh, sustainable seafood. What started in Newport Beach has grown to locations in Huntington Beach and Newport Coast, along with our sister restaurants, Wild Taco and Circle Hook.
